I was out to dinner with a group of people a few weeks ago. The girl sitting next to me (who I had just met that night) said to me, "You know, something about you, you remind me a little bit of a more straight-laced Cyndi Lauper." I laughed (I don't think Cyndi and I look much alike) and I said, "Well, I've always liked her style." (Especially in the "...Fun" video!)
So she opened it up to the group: "Doesn't she remind you a little of Cyndi Lauper?"
The group (Collectively): "No, not really."
LOL!
Anyway - great song, I have a greatest hits of hers, I also love "Unhook the Stars" (from the very good movie of the same name)
I love that song -- and don't mind being called 'girl' anymore. If someone said that 25 years ago I would've yanked 'em up by the shorties.
Older I get, the more done I am with: shopping, cooking, buying cute things for the house, hosting flashy dinner parties, pleasing everyone at my own expense, yada yada yada. Gosh...it smells like middle aged freedom!

As soon as I saw the post title, I said in my head "she could also say it's weird or fucked up!" (Great minds, yada yada)

I have Cyndi Lauper on my iPod.
I hate when I talk about music and then discover that it was decades ago. I hate it more that it makes my daughter point out how old it is.
