Thomas the Lead-Based Tank Engine
Unlike several of his school friends, AB has never really been that into Thomas trains...
... so I'm anticipating that any second now, there will be a recall on various and sundry plastic dinosaurs.
(Unrelated: my goal is to go to sleep before 10:30 tonight. I think I can, I think I can...)

Consider yourself lucky. My Oldest is OBSESSED with Thomas. We have spent enough money to put all three kids in college on Thomas trains, each of the different tracks (blue, wooden, gray), shirts, DVDs, shoes, shorts, costumes, the list is endless!
Neat blog! Found you through Lawyer Mama.
Oh my gosh! Not Thomas! I hadn't heard about this recall, so I'm so glad you posted about this.
At the risk of sounding anti-Chinese... WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON OVER THERE?? I'm starting to think I shouldn't be ANYTHING made in China (could I even survive doing that?) Next thing you know they're going to find radioactive particles in my made-in-China cheapy t-shirts!
Oh come on! Because everyone at my house is NOT a Helpful Little Engine, I didn't even eat dinner until after 10:00 pm last night. What makes you think you can get to bed by then?!?
Thank goodness we mostly have Brio stuff with a few blue and green TtFTE thrown in, and the recalls are all on red and yellow things.
But I'm sorta jumping on the let's not buy from China bandwagon for awhile.
"At the risk of sounding anti-Chinese..."
um, ever think that perhaps most of what we buy these days tends to be chinese, and so its inevitable that we blame china?
Thanks, Justice. I'm a big fan of Lawyer Mama.
M&Co, I did get to bed by 10:30. But that gets canceled out by tonight, when I'm up past midnight. Oy.
I, too, need to pay more attention to where things are made and not necessarily buy the cheapest thing out there.
Most of our Thomas stuff is from Learning Curve so (for now at least) it seems as if our trains our safe.
NSBH picked out tiny turtles made of shells for everyone while we were at the beach. They cost $.98 and were imported. That seemed beyond sad to me.
