APL's comment policy

I'm going to start deleting anonymous comments. One of my previous posts about a certain business enterprise that encourages little girls to dress like Britney Spears(we'll call it "Sibby Sue") received--and still receives, every now and again--a bunch of anonymous comments, some of them rude.

I have the option to require commenters to be registered with Blogger, but I'd hate to resort to that. Most of my non-Blogger commenters are good about identifying themselves (Genevieve and Nutso-Ranter, for example). At this point, all I'm asking is for you to pick a name for yourself and use it consistently. Doesn't even have to be your real name. Just identify yourself in some way, please. We'll see how this works...

I've resorted to the "must be blogger registered" because annonymous comments were causing me problems. Hate it. Comment volume has dropped huge too. Balancing the evils i guess

Please don't require commenters to register. That would mean no comments from NSAH, and this place wouldn't be the same without him.

I'll bet the anonymous "Sibby Sue" commenter was a "Pagent Mom" in disguise. (Did I spell "pagent" wrong? --gosh my spelling sucks).

You know, your rant about Sibby Sue was really uncalled for. Lots of girls learn volumes about themselves (like how much bigger their non-existent breasts need to be to fill up that halter top) at these events.

It promotes a child's sense of self-confidence (when she successfully beats back the child-pedophile photographers); it improves her poise (trying to hold that smile while ensuring her skirt doesn't ride up past her underwear); and it empowers her to communicate effectively with her peers ("You got to be Christina Aguilera in her 'slut' phase last time, its MY TURN)

See all these wonderful things girls can learn from Sibby Sue? Just like pagents.

I thought about doing that too, but I have only received a few nasty comments, so I decided to hold off.

I did have a commenter who always showed up as anonymous, and when I was doing comment moderation, I had to open the email to see who it was. I asked her to sign as her blogger name instead of anonymous, and she must have taken offense, because she quit coming to my blog. I think the people who leave nasty comments for you about that post are not worth keeping - so I hope it works out.
