Now if only I had 30 or so free hours...

These are the movies I really need to see before the end of the year:

Good Night, and Good Luck
The Squid and the Whale
Bee Season
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Walk the Line
The Ice Harvest
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

How many do I think I will actually wind up watching? Two for sure: Harry Potter and Narnia. I'll do midnight showings if I have to for those.

We just saw Good Night, and Good Luck--it was fantastic. It would still be good on the small screen, so you might want to move it to the Future DVD list. The two you named are the two I'm certain to see before the end fo the year, although I'd also like to see Walk the Line and Pride & Prejudice.

Ooh, I want to see that one, too. We saw Jarhead last weekend; it's interesting and worth watching, but not outstanding, so you might be able to move that to the DVD list, too.

Before the end of the year, I hope to see at least half the DVDs I got last Christmas. :)

I am with you on that. And basically the whole list.

I'm going out next weekend to see a movie with the girls--I know I said Shopgirl, but I'm now thinking HP!

I will definitely see Narnia (having loved the books) and I cannot wait for Bee Season, espcially since Richard Gere is in it.

Well, those are pretty much all on the list, but my tops would have to be HP and Walk the Line.

I know I'll get to see Narnia, the boy has demanded it, but since I never read the book I have to do that first. He brought his brother's copy of the collection over to me last night. :)

I am a slave to Netflix and my teenage daughter's social schedule. So all of those will be DVD.

Bee Season got a bad review in the New Yorker. I would a the Capote film with Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

I share your excitement for many of the titles here. But I recommend that you skip Shopgirl. It got good reviews, yes. But my husband and I hated it. As did everybody else we've talked to who has seen it. Claire Danes and Steve Martin are great... but not in that dud of a movie.
