What does it mean...
if, unlike my normal headaches (which I don't get frequently), I seem to be suffering from a recurring sharp pain in my front left lobe?
My husband will be worried, I'll bet. We have reversed gender roles in our marriage: he's good about going to the doctor and stays on top of any symptoms. I'm the idiot who didn't go to the doctor for nearly two months when I felt worn down and slightly feverish, and who found out belatedly that I'd had mono.

Ouch! Feel better and be careful. (I'm one to talk...I never go to the doc!)
A good rule of thumb is if the pain is still there in 24 hours it's time to go to the doctor.
I hope you feel better.
I would go to the doctor, if the pain is continuing and you do not normally get headaches/migraines.
Ok, now *I'll* be worried until you go get it checked out. Please go get it checked out!
(From the woman who almost never goes to the doctor voluntarily, but spends a lot time making my MD husband review my symptoms and asking, "Should I be worried?")
Get Thee to the doc now. Angry Boy needs his momma!
And you know damned well Weingarten would tell you to go to the doctor and who are we to argue with him?
Which one WAS yours a few weeks ago?
For the record, I'm not that worried. There are many explanations for headaches -- mine turned out to be sinus-related.
But we have plenty of people who can watch AB if you need to go to the doctor. :)

I've been getting random headaches also, I am figuring it is allergies. But go to the doctor anyway!
Wow. I get that, too, but it usually only lasts a few minutes and then turns into a really nasty migraine.
Anyway, any new localized pain is worth checking out. I hope you feel better soon!
Sounds like a sinus headache or maybe a migraine. Or maybe it's a blog headache.
Go to the doctor! Get it checked out and find out it's nothing. Maybe even get a nice recommendation for drugs to prevent pain?
APL, I'm feeling very bonded with you these days. I'm currently working through my own chronic headache sitch, so good luck to you. If Excedrin Migraine (my drug of choice, with a chaser of Ben and Jerry's) doesn't kill it off, see a doc.
Like Liz said. 24 is a good amount of time. I hope you feel better soon.
Yes, I'd advocate a trip to the doctor as well; however, as I'm reluctant to go myself, I could see why you might not take this step yet. Maybe sinuses?
Umm, if you take everyone's advice and go to the doctor, couldya kindly post the diagnosis and treatment? I'm a big fan of Courtney's solution, but neither it nor Midol, beer and lots of water are working for me these days...
Welcome to Jessica and Casey (although now I think you may have commented before, Casey--my brain is fried this morning, sorry!).
Thanks for the advice, all. I promise, if I get that same weird headache again, I will go to the doc's office.
