New thing now
OK, in order to deal with the increasing number of Anonymous comments from spammers that we all seem to be bothered with right now, I've turned on the word verfication feature in the comments. I apologize if that makes commenting more of a hassle. My only other option as I see it is to disable anonymous comments. Since a few of my regular commenters are still anonymous, I am loath to do that.
That being said, if this current step does not stem the tide of spam, I'll be forced to limit comments to the non-anonymous. Sorry, folks, but my hands are tied.

hate the spam comments. Really, really hate 'em.
What, you want me to keep commenting? :)

Darn. And I was just going to stop by to sell my "get rich quick while losing weight and gaining hair and cooking without carbs on the George Foreman Grill" plan.
I didn't even know that you could get comment spam. How funny. (Well, not for you....but I sure got a chuckle as I scrolled down to read some of them!) Who knew? Technology these days...
Isn't it sad?
Wait, Kristen. I need me some of that.
Actually, the verification is sort of fun. I feel like I'm buying concert tickets or something.
APL in concert! Yeah!!
Don't blame you, at least I can read these verification words.
oooooh, wait, how did you do that? I need to add that to mine. The spammers are coming over to bug me too!
Actually, my friends and I have recently been hit by a number of registered names, including "500 a week!" and "Christopher H." "Finance Online" and "cowboy99" seem to be Blogger IDs that are spamming a lot of other blogs right now, too.
I'm thinking that what we need isn't a flag feature on individual blogs, but on individual accounts. Blogger shouldn't tolerate spamming.
I did the same thing after seeing comment spam on several sites. I do hope that someone will figure out how to block comment spam as well as they have in blocking email spam.
I think I might be the Queen of Spammedalot--you have my empathy.
Great reading--thanks!
OK, thanks for not running away from my massive blogging requirements. And "hi" to Amy and Katie's Brain--thanks for stopping by!
